Method 12!

I know we were given an extentsion date to finish this course, but when I come back after the holidays, things will be more busier, so I completed it today!
My favorite discovery was learning about blogging; created my own account & advertised the seminary's library. The lesson on Flickr was beneficial especially for my own personal use, & Facebook & MySpace was information was I already aware of. Of course, if I had interacted with more librarians I would have gain more information & learned to use all of these methods in two-stepping. I think the program was highly organized & yet informal, using it at your own pace. And when/if another discovery program is availabe in the future, I will consider it. My library director was especially pleased in this program because of what I learned from it, he has benefitted from it too! Keep up the good work!

Method 11

Didn't take a whole lot of time to browse through the podcasts. Went to Podcast.com, but didn't sign in (yet) even though it's free. Could benefit libraries that have the money & technology to create podcasts.

Method 10

I found it all interesting because I haven't been blogging or using a wiki. Really, I had only been aware of the encyclopedias through wiki! Still not sure how a wiki would/could work for a seminary library. Students could use it in researching as a group.

Method 9

Chatting online is easy! I already have a yahoo & facebook accounts & have chatted with several friends off & on, so it was no problem. In our seminary library, you never know when a patron is chatting online either on a library computer or on there own personal laptop. And with instant messaging available on cell phones, you never know when someone is communicating on the outside world. I looked at the Webopedia: Text Messaging Abbreviations, & was amazed at all the abbreviations especially since I don't text message alot. I have noticed the abbreviations in some emails I have received. Students will have to learn to communicate in proper English writing skills & instant message skills which some probably already do! I chatted some with Naomi on MeeboMe, & that was easy getting on & off especially since she was there. One friend who yahoo said they were online, never responded, then yahoo said they were offline, so you have to be online at the same time they are.
